A new me??

Today I worked out for the first time in almost a month. I have been noticing, and others - namely my Mom, have told me that I look like I have gained weight. So, today I decided to take my fat ass to the fitness room in my complex. I ran on the treadmill for a half hour and then lifted weights for another 20 minutes or so. I ended up working up a pretty intense sweat and now I feel pretty good. I think that I will keep up with this routine; it helps to wake me up in the morning.

I'm actually at work right now. I am setting up two new laptops that we got in here. We bought two tablet HPs for the researchers. Danny believes that the researchers will likely take them into the field and write on them like they do on a piece of paper. Now, I can't say that I buy into this, most of the researchers barely know how to use a desktop PC, let alone a tablet. I admit though, it is pretty cool to be able to write with a pen and see it on the computer screen. I even got to draw Andrea a cute sketch while I was tinkering around on it. One downside to the tablet though, I think the monitor is not building in a rugged fashion. It is only connected to the base of the system in one location (directly in the center), and I think that this will probably be the laptop's downfall.

Anyways, this past weekend I went up to CMU and then home. I got to spend a great deal of time with Andrea and my family. I think we both had a really good time together, relaxing, and hanging out with my family. We went disc golfing after buying discs at Dunhams and we even did some shopping (so I can have nice clothes to wear to work). I had a dentist appointment on Monday morning that I dominated, then I headed to CMU again to hang out with Andrea just a little bit more. I went with her to TBell to grab a bite to eat while she worked and once again I locked myself out of my car. It was fantastic... I am beginning to think that I am partially retarded. Oh well.. I will have to pay closer attention.

I talked to Bob (my realtor) yesterday right before the Piston's game. We are going to try to look at a few of the duplexes that I drove past, either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. I hope I can do it before Friday cause I want to be headed up north before it gets too late - if I can't on Thursday. We'll see where the week takes me.

Anyways... I am kinda tired of typing. Hope everyone is having a great summer!!

So Bored

I am ridiculous. I have not moved from this couch in freaking forever. I moved some stuff around in the apartment, but have basically been on this damn couch for the entire day.

I got to talk to Andrea a lot today and stuff, but its not the same without having her around the apartment. I can't wait to see her again.

Basically all night today I have been doing bills. I had been putting them off for so long, probably 3 or 4 weeks, so I had a lot of catching up to do. I haven't completed it quite yet, but I needed a break.

I'm going to meet with a real estate agent tomorrow morning to discuss possible properties to purchase. I'm looking to buy a place (to avoid renting and losing a lot of money) and I figure it will be the most time efficient to just talk to someone that knows what they are doing.

Last night I went to the Riv with Amber, Justin, Joe, Aaron, Rory, and Tiffany. Kim and Rob showed up later. It was actually a lot of fun. We drank a few, played some darts, talked a bit, and had a pretty decent time.

I'm now watching the Daily Show on Comedy Central - probably my favorite comedy show in the entire world. I admit though, Real Time with Bill Maher is a close second just because they actually have very intelligent people that come on and discuss... nonetheless, the Daily Show is awesome.

Ok, I'm tired... check out my pics if you want to see Traverse City and stuff.

What a Week

Ok, I am posting on here, I'm tired, so I'll keep this short.

I'm watching Real Time with Bill Maher, but its a rerun, so now the Chapelle show is on. We'll see about this.

Anyways, the last 10 days or so have been spectacular. I got to spend every day with my girl and even do a little bit of traveling. We went up to Traverse City to see my sister and do some sight seeing. We even did a little wine tasting. It wasn't quite New York City as was planned, but it was still a lot of fun and a lot less time in the car.

In terms of other stuff, well, I don't want to get into that because I'm freaking tired. So, I'm going to bed. G'night.

Ah yes, the Caucasian...

I'm sitting here, sippin' on a nice White Russian... Rob and I decided that it'd be a great idea to go ahead and buy some kahlua and vodka to mix with our milk. Nonetheless, great idea.

Anyways, so as my girlfriend's journal indicates, I have been talking about this condo on Grand River for the past like... say... week. It is for sale down close to Frandor and costs a lot of money. Fortunately though, I may be able to afford it with a small loan from my parents and a huge loan from the Credit Union. I can't say that I'm excited to spend a LOT of money, but hear this - when the guy bought it before (2.5 years ago), he spent $70,000 on it and now it was appraised for $90,000. That means that in less than three years it has increased in value over $20,000 - proving that the East Lansing property market is HOT! Anyways, with recent calculations, it looks to be a slight struggle to make the necessary "bank" to pay monthly payments on the place along with the taxes, but still doable. The next week will definitely prove to be the deciding time for this property. We'll see.

So, this week is very busy. I took today off to organize the apartment, and get some stuff done that I've been meaning to do. Tomorrow I plan to work a bit, then get more important crap done. I have to call the Credit Union about a loan and stuff too... Then Friday I graduate and a bunch of my family will be coming down. Saturday involves going to see the condo with my parents and Andrea along with spending the entire afternoon cleaning my apartment and packing all my "shite" up to move it a freaking 100 yards across the courtyard to a different apartment (total bullshit but it has to be done). Then I obviously have to unpack a ton of stupid stuff before Andrea and I drive all the way back up to Midland. Sunday morning, approx 5am, we're leaving to New York City. Actually we're going to NJ, but plan to jet into NYC a couple days (via the train) and do some sight seeing. I haven't been there since sophomore year so it should be a pleasant visit. I get to see my Uncle's family too which will be a very nice adventure since I seldom see them. I can't wait. I get to bring my girlfriend to meet my family in NJ... I'm sure they will be thinking its serious, which if you hadn't noticed - it is. Andrea is awesome and I'm sure they will see that.

Hm, what else to say... I'm sure there is something. Oh yeah, I think Rob might actually be going to the Army. His job prospects are not very good right now so he has limited options. I really think that he wants to avoid moving home and making little money. The Army doesn't sound like the safest way to avoid that, but with the pay $11,000 right off the bat it helps to get past that I'm sure. I guess I can't say that I'd be excited to see him go, but at the same time I see how it would make him feel more fulfilled. I mean, anyone that knows Rob has heard him talk about serving his country and the honor in doing so. And after the talk I had with him yesterday I have a much better feeling about him doing it. I mean, after all, who better would we want to send into the most Right-Wing organization in this country? Rob might be able to talk some educated, free-thinking, sense into their heads.

In regards to "free-thinking", I'm going to go into a little political spat here related to the anti-abortion / pro-life crowd. If you are a pro-life advocate, please pay attention to this... Ok, here goes. I believe in peoples right to choose what they want to do with their own body. No government, institution, cult, clan, organization, group, or any other formed body of people can tell me, or anyone else what they can or cannot do to their own body. Key being, I cannot tell you not to slit your wrists. I cannot tell you not to shave your head. I cannot tell you not to castrate yourself. I cannot tell you not to have a vasectomy. I cannot tell you ANYTHING. I may think that these things are terrible and that I would NEVER do these things to myself, but I have NO right to tell you to do / not to do any of these. Therefore, I believe that the government, which is a ruling body of people, cannot have the right to tell an individual what they can or cannot do. How can they know what is best for me or you? They can't. Anyone that wants to argue this point can IM me anytime because I'm ready and willing to blow your head off with logic.

Thank you. Amen.

DONE!!!

I'm officially done with my finals! I had two on Thursday and that was all!!! I am unofficially done with my education at MSU and will get my degree on Friday!!!! I can't wait!

In celebration, this weekend we did a bit of partying. Went to the Den on Thursday night with Andrea, Amber, Joe, Rob, Matt, Lindsey, Lewis, Abbe, and then ended up meeting a whole ton of people there that I didn't expect including Jake Slusser from the ski club. It was a blast and everyone ended up being wasted. Then, Friday we were going to go to Crunchy's but the line was freaking huge so we ditched out on that and went to Amber's place. Just drank a few and called it a night there. Then, we woke up early on Saturday and drove up to CMU and then went to Reggae Fest in Oil City. It was a lot of fun. We all got wasted and stoned... good times. Admittingly, I've never been that stoned before, but I had a great time and I think everyone had fun there. I even saw a couple people from MSU so that was cool too. Andrea and Amber both had a good time too from what I could tell - tho I think I was the most messed up. I will be posting pictures later this week, so check my picture site.

I think I'm going to go play bball tonight sometime.. I need to keep up the activities now that I'm done with bball. I am afraid that I'm porking up and that is simply unacceptable!!

Anyways, I'm tired of typing and I have to run off to Amber's for dinner with the gang. I'll check back later.

I LOVE YOU ANDREA!
