Shmuckin Around

Rants, yeah, usually just rants about stupid people. Occasional posts about myself or my friends and/or life.

The Holidays

I'm at home relaxing with my parents and a few rented movies (Hitch, Count of Monte Cristo, Crash, and Pirates of the Carribean). We're watching Hitch right now and I really like it - yes... romantic comedys are my thing.

I went out to the bar last night with Rob and a few of our friends. Now, one thing that I hate more than anything when I go out, is when I get stuck in situations that I'm uncomfortable in because of stupid people. Honestly, the bumper sticker that says mean people suck is true. I went out to the Boulevard in Midland. Now, after we got done there and went to Lil Chef, I'm not sure what happened, but when we got inside a guy I was with was yelling shit to a guy from another group that was walking in at the same time. Basically what it came down to was one guy thought he was hot shit and the guy I was with thought it was necessary to let me know he wasn't. Now, not that I thought my friend was WRONG for doing that, he wasn't - but what the hell is the point of yelling at each other in a restaurant and nearly starting a brawl? People are stupid as hell. Just drop it... who are you trying to impress??

No one thinks its cool or intelligent in any way to fight. If you can't make them realize that they are unintelligent or otherwise wrong for thinking "they are king of the world" or anything else, without punching them in the face, then you need to start reading more books and learning. How can you expect to do anything with your life if the only way you can convince people to think the way you are thinking is to fight them? In a JOB... I mean, a REAL JOB, people disagree all of the time. If you don't have the facts, the convincing argument, and the backbone to voice it, you will never get your way and impress the people you need to impress. How will you go places in this world and potentially make a difference in any field you pursue? You won't. Get your ass in gear and stop raising your fists all of the time... cause that is lame as hell anyways!

What kind of kisser are YOU?

You're a Romantic Kisser

For you, kissing is all about feeling the romance
You love to kiss under the stars or by the sea
The perfect kiss involves the perfect mood
It's pretty common for kisses to sweep you off your feet

If I were a potato, where would I be?

I'm watching Fresh Prince... sadly its on Nick at Nite (I really feel old).

My street has not been plowed yet. Its actually pretty cool though, I can spin around all I want when I get on the road - its easy to wake up when you can slide around for fun in the morning.

Anyways... I have to be at work at 8am tomorrow. I'm training someone at work on how to do the tasks that I had been assigned to. Starting Monday I will be training to program COBOL mainframe for Life Systems. I'm pretty excited, but a little apprehensive at the same time.

I'm also opening a mutual fund account through Schwab to invest my extra savings. The hope is that I will be able to increase my net-worth more quickly then if that money just sat in my savings account. For instance, if I invest $2000 in my savings account, which makes 1.25 percent a year, I will only make $25 in interest for a year. Now, in comparison, if that same $2000 was in a mutual fund that made 5 percent, that money would gain $100 in interest. Obviously, mutual funds can potentially earn less money or more money, or they could also lose money, but at this point in my life I can be a bit more risky with my savings.

Oh damn, I'm watching MXC now..... hahaha, the event they are doing is freaking hilarious.

Anyways, I posted a bunch of pictures on my photo page so if you're interested in seeing new pictures of what I've been up to, give it a shot.

I'm headed to Midland this weekend. My Mom's family is getting together at my house for the gift exchange. It should be fun. I think my gift will go over pretty well and the one that Andrea picked out is pretty great too.

All for now.

Xmas Shopping

I'm posting again, but I'm going to keep this as short as possible because I'm not really in the mood to be updating. I probably shouldn't even start, but I will anyways.

Since the last time I posted a few things have changed. Namely, I got a promotion at work. I'm going to programming in Life Systems at Auto-Owners. Not only have I only been at A-O for 6 months, but I also have almost no programming experience. Oh well, the training they pay for should make up for the lack of experience. The nice thing is that I won't have to talk on the phone for hours at a time anymore, plus I get a bonus! Needless to say, when I told Andrea and my family they were all pretty impressed. My Dad was shocked. Basically, when my boss told me I was getting an interview (which basically meant I had the job) with programming I could not help but smile for pretty much the rest of the day.

Anyways, enough about that... Andrea and I went shopping to Target today. We picked out a few items for various friends/family. I really can't wait for Xmas this year. I like having Christmas come when I can actually afford to buy gifts for the people I care about. While we were out I bought the Charlie Brown Xmas album too so now I can listen to it as much as I want.

Pistons are 14-2, Spartans are 7-2, Wings are doing well... what more could a guy want in sports?
