Shmuckin Around

Rants, yeah, usually just rants about stupid people. Occasional posts about myself or my friends and/or life.

...if I could just crash here tonight

I got 3 CDs from a guy from work today. Gin Blossoms greatest hits, Verve Pipe greatest hits, and Five for Fighting. All of which are quite swell. Also, I recently ordered Hot Hot Heat - Elevator, Muse - Absolution, and Soasin - Saosin. Hopefully I can get them tomorrow; I'm anxious for some new tunes.

Last weekend I got to spend more time with Kira. I was kind of a douche most of the weekend though. I was ragging on her quite a bit, jokingly of course, but I could tell it wasn't being received entirely well. I just couldn't stop though. Oh well. Hopefully there aren't any lasting effects. She should know that I care for her a great deal and that the stuff that I was running my mouth about was just nonsense.

Anyways, Saturday we went up to my family's get together for Thanksgiving / Xmas since my grandma is going to be in Florida for both. It was very nice to see the family again and spend some time with Kira. She seems to fit in well with the whole crew. She even participated in the games of Twister that we had going. We ended up eating a TON of bidiculously good food (even without the salad ;)). I'm also pretty sure that my family, especially my close family really likes Kira. It's really nice because she is so social with the family.

So, getting to the REAL excitement of the night - we were driving back at 9:30 (approx) and were just north of Standish. We were passing a vehicle, so all I could see were its headlights. All of a sudden the right light blew out. All I could see were the sparks from it and as I swerved away from him (completely out of instinct) I grazed past a deer that was tossed into the center of the road. I got some furr in between my wheel and tire, but nothing besides that. Anyways, when we stopped to see if the people in the truck were OK (which they were), the deer was still moving. The driver of the truck had gone into his pickup and grabbed a mallet. So, I didn't care to see that, so when he swung at the deer's head, I turned away. When we drove away, I saw in the rearview mirror the man dragging the deer into the ditch.

Needless to say, it was a distrubing night and I'm glad that it's over.

OK, all for now. Lates.
